Benefits of Being a Volunteer
Feeling good about yourself is one of the best rewards you receive
when you volunteer, but there are many more rewards. While each
individual may have different reasons for volunteering, some of the
most common benefits are:
- Gaining knowledge and skills (often viewed as professional
growth)
- Personal satisfaction and growth (helping others and making new
friends)
- Family interaction and involvement
- Community involvement (learning about your community)
No matter what your reasons are for being a volunteer, helping
others is an enriching and rewarding experience.
